JASON WU HONORED BY THE ASIAN SOCIETY

The Asian Society hosted its 5th annual gala at the Pierre hotel in Manhattan, New York on Monday Night. The event honored "Jason Wu" the well known designer. Guest appearances included Stephanie Foster & Charles Rockefella, Jenny Shimizu, Michelle Harper, Cynthia Romley, Bill Powers, Lorry Newhouse, Yung Hee Kim, Chiu-Ti Jansen, Eddir Borgo; who donated a crystal bracelet to the events live auction mingled over Asian inspired hors d' oruveres. Anna Sui who had just returned from Japan, made an apperance with her date Hanne Gaby Odiele.
Wu said, "When I grew up in Taiwan it was very clear to me that I wasnt going to be your average Doctor, Lawyer, or Accountant. In fact I'd highly discourage myself form doing any of your taxes. But my parents encouraged me to do what I wanted to do. I wanted to acknowledge them because they could not be here. They are in Taiwan, because they think New York is too dirty. And it is a bit, but I love it."
